OCK Group secures Fujikura distributorship to strengthen fibre supply chain

SHAH ALAM: OCK Group Bhd, Malaysia’s largest telecommunication network solutions provider and regional towerco, announced that its subsidiary OCK Datawave Sdn Bhd has signed a distributorship agreement with Fujikura Ltd.

Under this agreement, OCK will distribute Fujikura’s wrapping tube cable (WTC) solutions, which include a wide variety of related accessories, enabling the group to further strengthen its supply chain capabilities and broaden its product offerings across the diverse business segments it operates in.

Fujikura will retain the right to modify product specifications and to provide consistent updates on newly developed products, ensuring continuous technological advancements from a leading fibre-optic manufacturer.

The collaboration aligns with OCK’s ongoing commitment to support Malaysia’s accelerating fibre rollout and network upgrading initiatives.

With expanding demand for high-performance fibre infrastructure driven by Smart City, Data Centre, AI adoption, enterprise digitalisation and 5G implementation, the addition of Fujikura’s optical cable solutions further enhances the group’s value proposition as an end-to-end digital and telecommunication solutions provider.

The distribution agreement will take effect in January 2026 and remain valid until December 2026.

OCK group managing director Datuk Wira Sam Ooi Chin Khoon said the company is delighted to announce its distributorship with strong counterparties, including Fujikura, a global name synonymous with innovation and quality in optical cable technologies.

“This partnership will enhance our capability to deliver reliable and future-ready fibre solutions to the market, supporting the activity for network infrastructure expansion as well as upgrades.

“By leveraging Fujikura’s advanced product range, we believe that we will be able to better serve the evolving requirements of telecom operators, data centres and renowned enterprise clients nationwide,” he said in a statement.

Fujikura is a leading Japanese manufacturer specialising in advanced optical fibre cable systems and connectivity solutions, including its flagship WTC series.
