US approves over $6.5 billion in potential military sales to Israel

The US State Department has approved three separate potential military sales to Israel totalling more than $6.5 billion, the Pentagon announced.

WASHINGTON: The US State Department has approved more than $6.5 billion in potential military sales to Israel across three separate contracts.

The Pentagon announced the approvals on Friday.

One potential sale involves Joint Light Tactical Vehicles and related equipment at an estimated cost of $1.98 billion.

A second approved sale is for AH-64E Apache Helicopters valued at $3.8 billion.

A third military contract was also awarded for $740 million.

The principal contractor for the vehicle sale is AM General LLC.

Boeing and Lockheed Martin are the contractors for the Apache helicopter sale. – Reuters
