PM Anwar calls for equitable development on FT Day

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasises that national progress must benefit all Malaysians, ensuring no group is left behind in the nation’s prosperity.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that all development efforts must be carried out equitably.

In his Federal Territory Day message, he said the benefits of progress must be enjoyed by all Malaysians without any group being left behind.

He stated that national development should not be measured solely by physical achievements like buildings and infrastructure.

Development must also have a positive impact on the lives and welfare of the people, according to his Facebook post.

“Every step forward must be anchored in justice and the needs of society,” he said.

“All development efforts must ensure that no group is left behind in the stream of prosperity.”

He added that the spirit of compassion and togetherness core to the MADANI Government will continue to be strengthened.

This is to ensure harmony, stability and well-being for all, he said.

The Prime Minister concluded by wishing a happy Federal Territory Day to residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

Federal Territory Day is observed annually on February 1 in those three federal territories.
