A relief centre in Tawau houses 310 victims after 40 homes were destroyed in a Kampung Titingan fire, with the district declared a disaster area.
TAWAU: A relief centre was opened at Dewan Serbaguna Kompleks Sukan Tawau to house victims of a fire that destroyed 40 houses in Kampung Titingan.
Tawau district disaster management committee chairman Mohd Shoffian Mohd Said declared Tawau a fire disaster area based on reports from agencies on the ground.
The Sabah state disaster management committee said 310 victims from 70 families were affected.
The victims comprise 104 men, 102 women, 50 boys and 54 girls, with the number expected to rise.
