ATLETICO Madrid completed a triple signing on transfer deadline day to bolster their squad.
The club secured midfielders Rodrigo Mendoza and Obed Vargas, and finalised the arrival of forward Ademola Lookman.
Coach Diego Simeone had requested reinforcements with his team sitting third in La Liga, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona.

The departures of Conor Gallagher and Giacomo Raspadori earlier in the winter transfer window created a need for new signings.
Mendoza joined from Elche for a reported €20 million, signing a contract until 2031.
Twenty-year-old Vargas moved from MLS side Seattle Sounders, a team he faced with Atletico in last summer’s Club World Cup.
Atletico announced a deal for Lookman from Atalanta on Sunday, reported to be worth €40 million.
The transfer was completed on Monday, with the Nigeria international signing a contract until 2030.
La Liga sides generally spent very little in the winter window.
Barcelona brought in Joao Cancelo on loan from Al-Hilal, while Real Madrid made no moves. – AFP
