Six skeletons found in abandoned Johor house, four suspects arrested

Police discover six human skeletons in a Kangkar Pulai plantation house, arresting four suspects. Victims include a family missing for over three months.

JOHOR BAHRU: Six human skeletons were discovered in a burned house within an oil palm plantation in Kangkar Pulai, Skudai.

Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad stated the grim find was made last month by a man searching for his missing wife and children.

The 48-year-old complainant lodged a report at the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters on January 9 after finding the remains.

“He had received information that his wife and children had been living in the house, which was located far from the main road, without electricity and water supply,” Ab Rahaman said.

A forensic team from Sultanah Aminah Hospital and the police conducted examinations at the house, situated near an abandoned temple.

The victims are identified as a 35-year-old woman, a 19-year-old girl, two girls aged nine and five, a two-year-old boy, and a 29-year-old man.

Police are still investigating the period when all the victims were reported missing.

Following investigations, four local suspects were arrested around Iskandar Puteri on January 21 to assist in the probe.

The suspects, three men and one woman aged between 19 and 35, all have past criminal records.

Initial urine screening tests showed that three of them tested positive for drugs.

When asked about the murder motive, Ab Rahaman said the matter would be known through the court trial.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The charge carries the death sentence or imprisonment of not less than 30 years and not more than 40 years, plus caning.

Ab Rahaman confirmed the investigation has been referred to the Johor Attorney-General’s Chambers.

Two male suspects will be charged at the Johor Bahru Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for murder.

The two other suspects, released on police bail, will be made prosecution witnesses.
