Police arrest an unemployed Bangladeshi man in Cheras after seizing a fake 9mm pistol and ammunition magazine during a raid.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man after discovering a fake firearm during a raid at Razak City Residence.
Cheras district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the arrest occurred around 11.30 am yesterday.
Officers seized a fake 9mm HK VP9 pistol and an ammunition magazine from the suspect.
“The police were still looking into the suspect’s motive for owning the firearm,” Mohd Rosdi said.
He added that the unemployed man has been remanded for four days until February 6.
The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960 and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
