BURGEONING singer-songwriter Timur Flores has released Between My Sheets, her latest single that blends the soothing rhythms of classic ballads with the upbeat stylings of new age pop and nu-disco.
The new single follows the romance of a relationship, with the steady cadence signifying a seemingly everlasting love that lasts through the seasons.
“The song lyrics spend an entire year before reaching the bridge to the final chorus. The transition signifies entry into a new year, where their love for each other still remains as strong as when they first met,” said the Malaysian-Swiss artiste.
In addressing rumours that the song is about a mysterious beau, Timur explained that Between My Sheets was inspired by her oyen, a term of endearment for marmalade tabby cats in Malaysia.
“The inspiration came one morning when I saw my cat basking under the sun, the light dancing gently on her face. I quickly recorded a voice note and continued cuddling with her. It might sound silly to some but the emotional bond that we have with our furry friends is the purest form of love,” she said.
Between My Sheets comes on the heels of an exciting next year for the singer, as Flores is said to bring a renewed sound and direction for her music, along with more collaborations with other musicians and producers.
