“Wow, traffic to work at 8:30am to TRX was surprisingly smooth on a Friday… no standstill jam at all!,” said a motorist.
After a week of crawling through severe congestion across the Klang Valley, motorists were left stunned today morning when peak-hour traffic suddenly eased.
For days, commuters had reported bumper-to-bumper conditions on major routes in and out of the city, with travel times stretching far beyond the usual rush-hour delays.
But with the Chinese New Year break kicking in, traffic appeared to take a much-needed turn.
“Traffic was so smooth this morning. Alhamdulillah,” one commuter shared online.
Another was shocked by what they witnessed on public transport.
“7.55am LRT Pasar Seni EMPTY???? What is this?? Where is everyone? Aren’t people working? WFH? Already on Chinese New Year leave? Or are more people driving???” the user wrote.

Motorists travelling towards the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) also noticed the difference.
“Wow, traffic to work at 8:30am to TRX was surprisingly smooth on a Friday… no standstill jam at all! I guess most people already balik kampung for CNY earlier, which explains why traffic was also jammed on those days,” another user posted.
A separate comment summed up the collective disbelief:
“Why isn’t there a jam today? Did everyone take leave already?”
For once, Klang Valley commuters were able to get to work without bracing for the usual gridlock — a rare relief after what many described as a brutal week on the roads.
