Bodies of five family members released for burial after Kuantan tragedy

The bodies of a family of five, victims of a tragic murder in Kuantan, have been released to relatives for burial following post-mortem examinations

KUANTAN: The bodies of five family members involved in a tragic murder at the Cerating Damai housing estate have been released to relatives for burial.

Kuantan police chief ACP Ashari Abu Samah confirmed the post-mortem procedures at the Forensic Medicine Department of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital concluded at about 4 pm.

The post-mortem examinations on the 32-year-old suspect and his 33-year-old wife, Nurul Asshiykin Kamaruzaman, were conducted yesterday.

The procedures for his 55-year-old mother, Tuan Kamaria Tuan Puteh, and his two daughters, aged four and two, were completed today.

“The bodies have been released to family members for burial in Cerating,” Ashari said when contacted.

Four of the bodies were taken to the Cerating Mosque for funeral rites and prayers.

Another was brought to the Sungai Ular Mosque for the same purpose.

All the bodies are expected to be buried at the Kampung Budaya Cerating Islamic Cemetery.
