KUALA LUMPUR: The presence of United States President Donald Trump at the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits today further strengthens relations between ASEAN and the United States.
This development marks a new chapter in both bilateral and regional cooperation according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister’s Senior Press Secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said Trump’s official visit to Malaysia provides an important opportunity for ASEAN to convey its collective stance.
“Trump’s presence offers ASEAN a vital platform to express its shared positions on issues such as peace, trade, energy, and the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and Gaza,” he stated.
