A 44-year-old man was seriously injured after being slashed with a machete by his 55-year-old adoptive uncle in Kampung Kulim, Pasir Puteh.
KOTA BHARU: A man sustained serious injuries after being slashed with a machete by his adoptive uncle in Kampung Kulim, Pasir Puteh.
Pasir Puteh district police chief Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria confirmed the 44-year-old victim suffered injuries to his right hand and head during the 6.35 pm incident.
The 55-year-old suspect is the adoptive sibling of the victim’s mother and lives nearby the victim’s residence.
Investigations revealed the suspect visited the victim’s house before allegedly attacking him multiple times with the machete.

Police determined the violent incident resulted from a misunderstanding over past grudges between the two individuals.
Authorities received notification of the attack through the 999 emergency hotline system.
The suspect fled the scene before police officers arrived but was later apprehended at his own home.
Medical personnel transported the victim to Tengku Anis Hospital for further treatment of his injuries.
Police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon.
