Police tracking three men who splashed red paint on restaurant

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The police are tracking down three men suspected of splashing red paint at a restaurant in Taman Machang Bubok here, as circulated on social media yesterday.

Seberang Perai Tengah District police chief (SPT) ACP Helmi Aris stated that the incident occurred around 3.00 am on Thursday involving a restaurant that was not operational yet.

“There were three men on two motorcycles. They splashed red paint at the two-story restaurant, which was scheduled to commence operations today.

“Investigations are underway to locate the men, and the cause of the incident,“ he said in a statement today.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and appealed to members of the public with any information to contact the Seberang Perai Tengah District police headquarters at 04-5382222 or any nearby police station.

Earlier, a 63-second video circulated on social media showed three men riding two motorcycles splashing red paint at a nasi kandar restaurant.
