vivo Malaysia supports Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home with donations and volunteer activities
VIVO Malaysia has launched its We Care corporate social responsibility program with a heartwarming community visit to Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home in Batu 14, Puchong demonstrating the technology company’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in local communities.
Supporting Young Lives Through Action
The initiative saw vivo Malaysia volunteers spending quality time with the 19 children currently residing at Rumah Victory, engaging in activities designed to uplift spirits and improve living conditions. The company provided both financial assistance through a cash donation and essential daily necessities to support the children’s basic needs and overall well-being.
Mike Xu, CEO of vivo Malaysia, received an appreciation flag from Rumah Victory’s Supervisor, Mr. Loh Chee Onn, in recognition of the partnership that aims to create lasting positive change for the children in care.
A Legacy of Service Since 1988
Rumah Victory has been a pillar of support for the Malaysian community since 1988. Originally established as a rehabilitation center, the home expanded its mission in 2016 to include an orphanage.
In 2024, it relocated to its current premises in Batu 14 to better accommodate the growing needs of the community it serves.
The home currently cares for 19 children, with 10 attending primary school and 9 in secondary school. Following a thorough needs assessment and direct engagement with the home’s management, vivo Malaysia identified Rumah Victory as the ideal beneficiary for this inaugural outreach effort.
Volunteers Create Meaningful Connections
The volunteer program featured multiple activities aimed at improving both the physical environment and emotional well-being of the children.
vivo Malaysia team members participated in light cleaning and upkeep of living spaces, organised interactive games, and led an energetic dance session that encouraged full participation from the residents.
Beyond the structured activities, volunteers invested time in building genuine connections with the children through listening, sharing laughter, and establishing trust. These simple yet profound interactions created memorable experiences that left the children feeling brighter, more confident, and emotionally supported.
The initiative also strengthened teamwork and communication skills among vivo volunteers, demonstrating how corporate social responsibility programs can create value for both beneficiaries and participants.
Commitment to Community Engagement
“We recognise the challenges faced by many care homes and communities today,” said Mike Xu, CEO of vivo Malaysia.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to act with empathy and support those in need. At vivo, we believe in more than just business; we believe in building a positive legacy.”
Xu emphasised that the We Care Program embodies the company’s “love vivo, love Malaysia” philosophy, which focuses on cultivating a culture of service among employees while making tangible investments in the communities where vivo operates.
“The We Care Program is powered by the participation of every employee, and we are dedicated to continuing this journey of support,” Xu added.
Long-Term Partnership Vision
vivo Malaysia has affirmed its commitment to sustained community engagement, with plans to organise at least one community outreach program annually.
The company aims to maintain long-term partnerships with local welfare organisations to ensure continuity of support and sustained positive impact on the communities it serves.
This strategic approach to corporate social responsibility aligns with vivo’s global mission to create value for society while building a bridge between humans and the digital world through innovative technology and genuine human connection.
