M’sian Chinese man shares how his voice box was removed 13 years ago because of smoking habit

ELDERLY Chinese man shares a 13-year tale of discarding his voice box, unaware of the surprising cause behind it.

As human beings, it is imperative for us to express gratitude for every blessing and advantage bestowed upon us.

Possessing fully functioning body parts and sensory faculties is one of the greatest blessings for every individual, if not properly cared for, we risk losing these blessings.

Recently, a Malaysian Chinese uncle shared the story of his discarded voice box, garnering significant attention, all due to the habit of smoking that led to a noteworthy cause.

In the video, he revealed that the reason he had to dispose of his voice box 13 years ago was due to laryngeal cancer caused by his persistent smoking habit.

His voice box had to be replaced by an electrolarynx.

He acknowledged being a heavy smoker, and this habit was a major factor contributing to his diagnosis of this particular cancer.

According to him, symptoms of this cancer include a hoarse voice and persistent coughing.

“I underwent radiotherapy initially, but after the treatment, the condition relapsed. So, the doctor recommended removing the voice box,“ he said.

Meanwhile, netizens shared various reactions in the comment section, with a few of them stating that heavy smokers should learn from the consequences of heavy smoking.

As of writing this article, the video has garnered 4.5 million views, 302.5K likes, and 25.8K shares on TikTok.”
