PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will commence preliminary investigations next week into governance issues and financial irregularities at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

In a statement, the commission stressed the investigation would be conducted professionally, independently, and in accordance with the law.
It added that appropriate action would be taken if evidence of offences under the MACC Act 2009 or other relevant laws is uncovered.
The MACC also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring all public funds are managed transparently and with integrity.
This is to maintain public confidence in the country’s higher education institutions, it said.
