LGMS, Bridgenet join forces to extend enterprise-grade cybersecurity to businesses nationwide

The Sun Biz

KUALA LUMPUR: LGMS Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Applied Security Intelligence Sdn Bhd (ASI), has entered into a strategic partnership with Bridgenet Solutions Sdn Bhd (Bridgenet), a company of CelcomDigi, to deliver advanced cybersecurity solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large corporations across Malaysia.

The partnership strengthens the delivery of StarSentry, a comprehensive cybersecurity solution designed to help organisations stay informed and protected against emerging threats.

Led by Bridgenet, the initiative provides businesses with an early-warning layer that continuously detects suspicious activity through honeypot decoys and timely alerts, enabling faster responses and greater operational resilience.

StarSentry also includes built-in cyber insurance to cushion potential financial impact, unlimited scans with actionable health-check reports, and plug-and-play deployment for ease of use.

To further enhance protection, the solution comes bundled with 10 complimentary CrowdStrike next-generation antivirus licences.

“Through this partnership, SMEs and large enterprises engaging Bridgenet for business connectivity can access a streamlined suite of protections spanning identity and access, data, web, endpoint, mobile and email,” said LGMS executive chairman Fong Choong Fook.

“These safeguards are reinforced by managed monitoring and technical expertise, in line with recognised standards and frameworks, including Malaysia’s Cyber Security Act 2024, ISO and NIST.”

Beyond this partnership, ASI has become Malaysia’s first managed security services provider to be licensed as a general insurance agent under Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM).

This milestone integrates cyber insurance with always-on technology surveillance, enhancing underwriting readiness and enterprise confidence.

StarSentry is the first solution within this integrated model, with further offerings to be introduced over time.

Bridgenet Group CEO Keane Leong described the collaboration as a timely step in addressing the rising cyber risks faced by businesses of all sizes.

“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to strengthening cyber resilience in Malaysia’s digital economy,” he said.

“By combining Bridgenet’s extensive enterprise reach with ASI’s innovative security and insurance-led approach — and the strength of the LGMS group behind it — we are enabling businesses to safeguard operations with confidence.”

Bridgenet, a technology solutions group specialising in enterprise ICT systems and managed services, brings long-standing experience in delivering secure, scalable solutions to Malaysian businesses.

Together with LGMS, the partnership combines strong technical capabilities with proven market credibility.

The solution is featured on CelcomDigi’s Cybersecurity page under ‘Stay Informed – StarSentry. Bridgenet is a subsidiary of Celcom Digi.

In July, the group announced plans to acquire a 27% equity interest in IT services provider Antarex Holdings Sdn Bhd for RM22.68 million in cash, as part of its strategy to expand its regional presence and strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio.

According to a bourse filing, the stake will be purchased from existing shareholders Tan Soon Huat and Tan Pek Loon.

The move builds upon a memorandum of understanding signed on April 9, which set out intentions for joint product development and cross-selling of cybersecurity solutions both in Malaysia and across the region.

The acquisition remains subject to Antarex’s internal restructuring, including its full acquisition of Antarex Cyber Pte Ltd and IPDC Solutions Pte Ltd in Singapore.

Gartner’s latest Market Guide for Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Retainer Services featured LGMS in August, earning it international recognition.

The report spotlights top global providers capable of managing complex cyber breach investigations and response operations.

This achievement represents a significant milestone for both LGMS and Malaysia, highlighting the nation’s growing presence in the global cybersecurity landscape. It also affirms LGMS’s standing among a select group of incident response specialists trusted by leading insurers, regulators, and Fortune 500 companies worldwide.

“This acknowledgement from Gartner is a moment of pride for both LGMS and Malaysia,” said Executive Chairman Fong Choong Fook. “It demonstrates that a Malaysian company can operate at world-class standards and be relied upon by international clients in moments of critical need.”

Gartner’s selection process is known to be stringent, evaluating firms based on technical expertise, international certifications, and their ability to provide end-to-end cybersecurity response and readiness services at scale.
