JDT coach Munoz targets aggressive high-tempo game against Shanghai Shenhua

The Sun Sport

JDT coach Xisco Munoz promises aggressive, high-intensity performance against Shanghai Shenhua in crucial AFC Champions League home match.

JOHOR Darul Ta’zim are fully prepared to deliver a high-intensity performance when they host Shanghai Shenhua FC in their AFC Champions League Elite group match at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium tomorrow.

Head coach Xisco Munoz confirmed his players are ready to raise their tempo and play with aggression as they target a crucial home victory.

He emphasised the need to push the intensity and be aggressive in the duels to score and secure the three points.

Munoz acknowledged that away matches in the competition are always challenging, making strong home performances even more important.

He reflected positively on their last game in China, citing both performance and result as reasons to continue this winning momentum with the same intensity.

Shanghai Shenhua head coach Leonid Slutskiy expects a tough challenge from the Southern Tigers, praising JDT’s distinctive playing style and strong home record.

He described JDT as one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the competition, highlighting their technical ability and attacking flair.

Slutskiy noted that while Japanese or Korean teams play with high tempo and discipline in predictable patterns, JDT are completely different.

He compared watching JDT to seeing a Spanish team play in the Asian Champions League due to their unique approach.

JDT previously defeated Shanghai Shenhua 3-0 in their ACLE encounter last season.

The Southern Tigers’ campaign last season ended in the Round of 16 after a 0-1 aggregate loss to Buriram United. – Bernama
