National singer Siti Nurhaliza becomes UiTM adjunct professor to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystem and mentor business students.

SHAH ALAM: National songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA.

The two-year appointment from October 15, 2025, to October 15, 2027, recognises her entrepreneurial contributions and business success.

UiTM Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin said this initiative strengthens the university’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

He described the appointment as recognition of the Temerloh-born singer’s major contributions as both a national icon and competitive woman entrepreneur.

“Her success in demonstrating creativity, integrity, and innovation in business while elevating local brands to the international stage has inspired thousands of young entrepreneurs and students across the country,” he said during the appointment ceremony at Bangunan Tuanku Canselori Syed Sirajuddin.

Shahrin added that UiTM is honoured to welcome Siti Nurhaliza as part of its extended family.

“This appointment strengthens UiTM’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and provides students with the opportunity to learn directly from someone who has built a business empire grounded in values, honesty and perseverance,” he said.

Siti Nurhaliza expressed gratitude to UiTM for the trust placed in her.

“To me, entrepreneurship is not just about profit, but about values, honesty and social responsibility,” she said.

“I hope to share real business experiences so that students understand that success comes from hard work, determination and sincerity.”

The 46-year-old singer will guide students through masterclass sessions, entrepreneurship forums and industry mentorship.

She will also help strengthen strategic ties between UiTM and the creative industry.

Her role includes opening cross-sector collaboration opportunities in commercialising students’ ideas and innovations. – Bernama
