Barisan Nasional deputy chairman confirms no seat clashes with Pakatan Harapan in Sabah polls, supports Jeffrey Nor for Tanjung Keramat.
PUTATAN: Barisan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan confirmed there will be no seat clashes between BN and Pakatan Harapan in the Sabah state election.
Mohamad, who is also UMNO deputy president, said discussions on BN seat allocations are still ongoing.
He emphasised that both parties in the MADANI Government will not contest against each other.
“BN’s machinery must continue working until polling day on Nov 29 to ensure BN’s victory,” he told reporters after a gathering with Kampung Contoh residents.
The Election Commission set November 29 as polling day, with nomination day on November 15 and early voting on November 25.
Mohamad proposed Putatan UMNO Division chief Jeffrey Nor Mohamed as UMNO’s candidate for the Tanjung Keramat state seat.
He cited Jeffrey Nor’s loyalty to the party and efforts to rebuild UMNO’s strength in Putatan.
“We support Jeffrey Nor as the candidate for Tanjung Keramat due to strong local community support,” Mohamad said.
The final candidate announcement will come from the party leadership. – Bernama
