Anwar’s reminder pushes ministries to improve project planning for 2025

PM Anwar Ibrahim urges all ministries to enhance project planning and execution for next year, focusing on meaningful public impact

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for improved planning and project execution is motivating greater government efficiency.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the reminder was for all ministries, ministers, deputies, chief secretaries and administrative teams to ensure projects genuinely benefit the people.

“The Prime Minister reminded us that our planning for next year must be more thorough,” he told Bernama after the Ministry of Works monthly assembly broadcast live at the Ministry of Communications.

Fahmi said the spirit emphasised by the PM shows the government’s determination to ensure all public spending and project implementation adhere to schedule and budget.

“When there is a project to implement, we must think about its impact and the solutions we bring to the community, villages and society,” he said.

He added that whether it is a bridge, internet service, or other facilities, it should contribute positively to national unity and benefit the people.

“We must think beyond meeting the predetermined key performance indicators (KPIs) so that, by understanding the meaningful impact of our work, we will carry it out with greater diligence and purpose,” he said.

Anwar told the assembly that the true measure of a MADANI nation’s success lies in how well values of compassion, kindness, and responsibility are embodied in government action, not merely in economic growth or infrastructure development.

Regarding government projects, he emphasised that the primary focus should be on delivering effective and timely solutions to fulfil the people’s needs. – Bernama
