Police nab 32 drug offenders in Petaling Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested 32 people believed to be involved in drug-related offences in a series of raids under Ops Sarang, which were conducted around Petaling Jaya from Saturday until yesterday.

Petaling Jaya District Police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said all the suspects, comprising 28 men and four women aged in their 20s to 40s, were caught in raids at the people’s housing project (PPR) flats in Putra Damai, Lembah Subang and Kelana Jaya.

“Through the raids, which ended at 6 am yesterday, police found 549 grammes of drugs comprising syabu, heroin and marijuana, worth over RM21,000,“ he told Bernama.

Nik Ezanee said all the suspects have been remanded for four days and would be investigated under various sections of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, including two who have been placed under the Special Preventive Measures (LLPK). — Bernama
