MyTreasure: Truly Malaysian giftshop in KLIA2

What if there was a place where you could get the best Malaysia has to offer, where everything is packed neatly and can be stuffed into one’s bag with ease?

As of this month, there is one such place and it is none other than MyTreasure, now opened at KLIA Terminal 2.

Operated by the JYY Group, which is behind household brands such as Jin Ye Ye and Lo Hong Ka, this new giftshop is the one-stop centre for tourists and Malaysians alike.

Lavish launch

MyTreasure is a one-stop spot with Malaysia’s best gifts.

The outlet, planned to be the first of many, launched on June 18.

Malaysia’s national identity was the centrepiece of the speech delivered by Alann Tan, JYY Group founder, during the launch.

He said Malaysia is rich with natural products that are unknown to the world.

“That inspired us to create MyTreasure. Not simply as a retail store but as a treasure hunter for Malaysia. Travelling across the nation, searching for authentic local treasures, curating them and bringing them together in one place. So… every traveller can discover the very best of Malaysia before leaving our shores.”

World-class honey

Studies by Utar researchers say Trigona honey is particularly nutritious.

Among the carefully curated products at the shop, the one which takes centre stage in the entirety of MyTreasure is its Trigona honey.

Sourced from the ancient rainforests of East Malaysia, it is touted to be the country’s answer to New Zealand’s famed manuka honey.

Scientists from Tunku Abdul Rahman University (Utar) found its natural antibacterial properties to be more more potent than manuka, while being nutritious and having a low glycemic index.

What better way to spread the good word than to gift a friend a jar of this sinfully sweet, sticky substance?

Prized bird’s nest

Bird’s nest from Sabah’s Gomantong Caves is also available here.

Also given the limelight at MyTreasure is Lo Hong Ka’s prized range of bird’s nest products.

These medicinal delicacies are specially harvested from the Gomantong Caves of Sabah

The reason why bird’s nest is so valuable is because it can only be harvested twice a year, namely from February to April and July to September.

Lo Hong Ka’s bird’s nest products are crafted following a 28-year-old recipe and preparation process, ensuring they are delicious, safe and nutritious to consume.

Tasty treats

Other than gift products, there are also many options for desserts, snacks and drinks that you can enjoy, perhaps while waiting for your flight or while in the comfort of your own home.

These offerings include the cold, sweet Trigona honey ice-cream, the fluffy pandan cloud cake and the aromatic durian coffee.

There are also chilled drinks, made with specialty honey, which will help anyone beat the heat while enjoying the many benefits of nutritious honey.

Speaking to the press, Tan said that the grab-and-go concept of the shop is designed so that “when you’re rushing, just take one bite, grab a coffee and go!”

Giftshop for all seasons

Located on the third floor of the terminal, MyTreasure is the ideal place to visit whether you are a traveller or just a fellow Malaysian with good tastes.

So many options are available, for gifting and personal consumption, and all are within reach within a single shop.
