Police announce transfer of 6 senior officers

KUALA LUMPUR: The police yesterday announced a transfer exercise involving six of its senior officers effective Dec 7.

Their Corporate Communications chief Datuk Asmawati Ahmad in a statement said Bentong (Pahang) District Police chief Supt Yusuf Unis would be made community policing staff officer at the Selangor Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

Kuala Muda (Kedah) District Police deputy chief Supt Shamsudin Mamat will replace Supt Syed Basri Syed Ali as the Baling District Police chief, while the latter will be made community policing staff officer at the Kedah Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

Meanwhile, the Penang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Wan Sharuddin Wan Omar will be transferred to the administration division of the Management Department in the same state.

Petaling Jaya Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division chief DSP Zaiham Mohd Kahar will be made Bentong Pahang District Police chief.

The exercise will also see the deputy chief of the Penang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department DSP Zafri Zolkapli promoted as its chief.-Bernama
