Rapper Namewee will be released on police bail as investigations continue into Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin’s death in Kuala Lumpur hotel.
KUALA LUMPUR: Rapper Wee Meng Chee, known as Namewee, will be released on police bail after being held in custody following the death of a Taiwanese influencer.
The 33-year-old Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin was found dead in a hotel bathroom on Jalan Conlay on October 22.
Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar confirmed investigations into the death are still ongoing.
“We are offering police bail,” he said when contacted today.
“Thus far, there is no lead to show that he was involved with causing the death of the deceased.”
Mohd Dusuki said instructions for further investigation have been issued to the police.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus earlier stated that police had completed their investigation and handed investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor.
Namewee’s extended three-day remand period ends tomorrow. – Bernama
