Johor announces two months’ salary incentive for civil servants

Johor gives two months’ salary to state civil servants and RM500 each to federal staff, with RM1,000 for media practitioners in budget 2026

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Johor government has announced a special incentive of two months’ salary for state civil servants as appreciation for their dedication.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi also revealed a RM500 special incentive for 140,185 federal civil servants serving in the state, with an allocation of RM70.1 million.

“This is the first time in history that the state government has announced special incentives to federal civil servants,” he said when tabling the Johor Budget 2026 in Kota Iskandar.

He confirmed the incentives would be disbursed in full during December.

Media practitioners registered with the Johor Media Club will receive RM1,000 each through the Bantuan Kasih Johor initiative from a RM200,000 allocation.

“This will be channelled through two payment phases, in December and February 2026,” Onn Hafiz added.

Johor Media Club president Mohamad Fauzi Ishak stated this makes Johor the first state to announce an allocation for media practitioners in a state budget presentation. – Bernama
