Police arrest man after another petrol station shooting in Klang

A 33-year-old man was arrested after a shooting at a Shell station in Klang; police investigate attempted murder.

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a 33-year-old man following a shooting at a Shell petrol station near MBO Klang, South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa said.

The suspect, who has a prior record of 20 criminal offences including five drug-related cases, allegedly resisted arrest, striking a policeman and colliding with a police vehicle before fleeing, according to the New Straits Times.

He was later apprehended in Bandar Bukit Tinggi at 12:45am today.

“The incident happened yesterday at 2.30pm, when policemen attempted to stop the driver of a white Toyota Vios at the Persiaran Raja Muda Musa petrol station in Klang following a robbery in Subang Jaya,” Ramli said.

He added that the police officer was injured and both vehicles were damaged.

The case has been opened under Sections 186 and 307 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public officer and attempted murder.

Authorities are also investigating the suspect’s possible involvement in other criminal activities.

Earlier, a video recorded by a bystander and circulating on social media shows a crowded scene at the station.

A white vehicle, believed to be driven by the suspect, can be seen hastily leaving while bystanders block its path.

Meanwhile, a man lies near a pump booth with a bullet casing nearby.

The person filming checks on the victim, though the location of the gunshot and the extent of his injuries remain unclear.
