Prime Minister urges secretaries-general to address land status, acquisition and erosion issues before project implementation to prevent wasted allocations
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed secretaries-general and department heads to prioritise pre-implementation issues in development projects.
He emphasised close attention to matters such as subsiding or wakaf land status, land acquisition processes, erosion, and waterway alignment.
“Such issues must not be allowed to recur, as they result in wasted allocations and undermine the development benefits intended for the people,” Anwar said in a Facebook post today.
He urged all parties to prioritise local resources, products, and equipment to optimise development expenditure.
Any savings achieved through this approach should be reinvested to enhance essential facilities and key infrastructure for the people.
Earlier, Anwar chaired the second National Development Action Meeting focusing on development projects beyond the 11th Malaysia Plan.
The meeting addressed guidelines on utility protection and relocation, along with preliminary studies aimed at optimising project development. – Bernama
