SEOUL: A major fire at a car parts factory in South Korea has killed 10 people and injured 59 others.

The blaze broke out around lunchtime on Friday at the plant in the city of Daejeon, which is owned by auto parts supplier Anjun Industrial.

Four workers remain missing following the incident, which prompted a large-scale emergency response.

South Korea’s safety ministry confirmed the death toll and casualty figures on Saturday.

Officials at the company were not immediately available for comment.

Yonhap news agency reported that one victim was found on the factory’s second floor and nine others on the third floor.
