Didie’s new version of Yang Berlalu Tak Berulang keeps its original spirit
SABAH-born singer Didie Shazry has re-recorded the classic song Yang Berlalu Tak Berulang in a new version, produced by Luncai Emas as the rights holder.
The remake received approval from original composer Neves Pretty Ugly, with a new arrangement tailored to Didie’s vocal identity while retaining the song’s core elements.

“This song was originally performed by the late Lotter, with lyrics written by the late Loloq. They are two figures in the arts who now remain only in memory. Their passing left a space that is difficult to fill, especially as every line and melody in this song is deeply personal.
“I appreciate how Didie has brought back the emotions we once recorded. Through this remake, that feeling returns and their memory lives on. Thank you for treating this song with respect,” said Neves.
“The song was previously popularised by the late Lotter, a well-known singer in Sabah. I grew up with songs like this, and my family are strong supporters of such works. This project also connects me with two figures I have admired since childhood, composer Neves and lyricist the late Loloq. I hope this remake will attract a new generation while continuing to resonate with longtime listeners,” said Didie.
Previously, Didie performed the contemporary joget track Joget Jiwa Lara in the compilation album Joget Made In Malaysia by Luncai Emas, alongside Amir Jahari, Kmy Kmo & Luca Sickta, Jaclyn Chia and Puteri Khareeza.
The music video was filmed in Bali by Alfi Aditya and will premiere on Luncai Emas’ YouTube channel on April 24 at 4pm and will also be available on digital streaming platforms.
