BAM considers RTG proposal for national and professional badminton players to train together, aiming to boost competition and performance.
THE Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is open to the Road to Gold (RTG) Committee’s proposal for national and professional shuttlers to conduct joint training sessions.
BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh confirmed the proposal had been previously discussed but requires further examination.
“We need to discuss with the coaches here and also perhaps with Datuk Stuart Ramalingam to see in detail what is meant by joint training,” he said at Akademi Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara.

Kenny noted that joint training isn’t new, having occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He acknowledged the proposal could benefit Malaysian badminton.
Current BAM RTG shuttlers include Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun in men’s doubles.
