Still hungry: FeiDin set sights on achieving more

FRESH from ending Malaysia’s 18-year wait for the Indonesia Open men’s doubles title, national pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani insist they are far from satisfied with what they have achieved.

The duo returned home on the back of their stunning triumph at the prestigious Super 1000 tournament in Jakarta, where they fought back from a set down to capture the title.

Speaking during a media session yesterday, the pair said they remain motivated by the many goals they have yet to accomplish in their careers.

“We don’t really set specific targets because we always want to achieve more. There are still many dreams that we haven’t fulfilled yet,” they said.

The duo were speaking during the “Smash It With #FeiDin” session held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary celebration of AIA Vitality.

Beyond chasing titles, the pair believe athletes have a responsibility to set a positive example for the younger generation by promoting discipline and healthy living.

They also expressed hope that more private companies would step forward to support aspiring athletes, especially those with talent but limited resources.

“There are many talented individuals out there who may not receive the opportunities they deserve because of a lack of sponsorship,” they said.

Off the court, Izzuddin admitted he would be supporting Spain at the upcoming FIFA World Cup. But when it comes to badminton, the message from the Malaysian pair is clear, they are still chasing bigger dreams and are far from satisfied with what they have achieved so far.
