Reform group Aliran questions transparency after two Pakatan Harapan MPs reportedly blocked from accessing constituency aid portal.
PETALING JAYA: Reform group Aliran has raised concerns over reported access issues involving the MyKhas constituency aid portal for two Pakatan Harapan Members of Parliament and has called for clearer communication and consistent procedures in the administration of federal constituency development allocations.
Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Subang MP Wong Chen were reportedly unable to access the system used to apply for constituency development funds, despite both being part of the governing coalition.
According to reports, no official explanation has been publicly provided by the Implementation Coordination Unit under the Prime Minister’s Department regarding the matter.
Aliran said the lack of clarity has prompted questions about transparency and administrative consistency in the management of public funds.
The group added that any delays or disruptions in access to the system could potentially affect constituents if it results in postponements to development projects or community support initiatives funded through constituency allocations.
“What this means is that constituents of the affected constituencies could experience delays in accessing development resources needed for local projects and support programmes,” the group said.
Aliran stressed that constituency allocations should be administered in a fair and consistent manner, and should not be influenced by political considerations or internal dynamics within parties or coalitions.
It also added concerns about perceived inconsistencies in the distribution process, suggesting that clarity on eligibility and access criteria would help strengthen public confidence in the system.
The group said that any ambiguity in the process could contribute to wider concerns about trust in public institutions and governance.
Aliran further urged the authorities to uphold principles of fairness and accountability in the management of constituency development funds, ensuring that all elected representatives are treated equitably in accordance with established guidelines.
It also referenced past commitments associated with Pakatan Harapan’s election pledges regarding equitable access to constituency development allocations, calling for continued adherence to those principles.
The group stressed by reiterating its call for a transparent and standardised system for managing constituency funding, emphasising that public resources should be administered in a way that benefits all communities fairly and consistently.
