Police arrest 23-year-old man in Kluang for online fraud, seizing RM200,000 in cash, phones, gold bars and e-wallet cards during raid.
KLUANG: Police have arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of involvement in online fraud activities during a raid on a residential premises here.
The arrest was conducted by a team from the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department and Kluang District Commercial Crime Investigation Division on Tuesday.
Authorities seized 30 mobile phones, cash amounting to RM82,571, and 12 Touch ‘n Go e-wallet cards during the operation.
Also confiscated were one gold chain, five gold bars, and one money-counting machine, with total seized items valued at approximately RM200,000.
Kluang police chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh said initial investigations revealed the suspect had withdrawn fraud proceeds from ATMs using Touch ‘n Go debit cards.
“The case is being investigated under Section 424A/420 of the Penal Code,” he said in a statement today.
He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the duration of the suspect’s activities and whether he operated alone or as part of a group. – Bernama
