Norwegian municipalities and event organisers scramble to secure big screens as the national team prepares for its first men’s World Cup quarter-final against England.
COPENHAGEN: Norwegian municipalities and event organisers are scrambling to secure big screens ahead of the national team’s World Cup quarter-final against England, according to Scandinavian media on Friday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
Many local authorities and companies plan to show the match to large crowds on Saturday, but large screens are in short supply, the reports said.
Morten Reffhaug of big-screen company To-Be-More in the town of Lier told Norwegian broadcaster NRK that he could barely cope with the volume of calls seeking additional supply of the screens.
Broadcasters DR and SVT reported that Norwegian officials had already contacted companies in Denmark and Sweden to secure additional screens for Norway’s first men’s World Cup quarter-final.
