Former Gemas rep steps down as Tampin Bersatu division chief and leaves the party, effective immediately, citing political principles.
SEREMBAN: Incumbent Gemas assemblyman Ridzuan Ahmad has resigned as the Tampin division chief of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and quit the party, effective today.
Ridzuan, in a statement today, said the decision was made after careful consideration, thorough reflection and a reassessment of the current political developments in Negeri Sembilan.
“I believe this step is in line with my principles and commitment to continue championing the interests of the people, especially voters in the Gemas state constituency, amid the state’s increasingly challenging political landscape.
“Throughout my time in Bersatu, I have done my best to represent the voices of the people of Gemas and Negeri Sembilan. I would like to express my appreciation to the party president, the entire leadership and all members who have stood together through various challenges,” he said.
He said he remained committed to serving the people of Gemas and believed the state’s political landscape required a more mature, stable and people-centred approach that prioritises public well-being over party interests.
