Unofficial vote counts show MCA leading in the Paloh and Johor Jaya state seats, with Barisan Nasional ahead of Pakatan Harapan as counting continues.
PETALING JAYA: MCA has established an early lead over DAP in the Paloh and Johor Jaya state constituencies, according to unofficial vote counts.
In Paloh, after results from seven of the 53 polling streams were tallied, Barisan Nasional (BN) had secured more than 1,200 votes, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) had garnered 178 votes. Perikatan Nasional (PN) was trailing with 44 votes.
Meanwhile, in Johor Jaya, BN had collected more than 1,300 votes compared with 387 for Pakatan Harapan. Parti Bersama Malaysia was also in the contest but had received only 20 votes at the time of reporting.
The figures are unofficial and are expected to change as vote counting continues across the remaining polling streams.
