Port Dickson heats up as BN, PH, PN supporters flood nomination centre

The atmosphere at the Kompleks Pentadbiran Daerah Port Dickson was charged from early morning, with supporters arriving in party colours, waving flags, beating drums and chanting slogans.

PORT DICKSON: The nomination centre here came alive today as supporters from Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Bersatu gathered in full force, setting the stage for closely watched contests in the Port Dickson parliamentary constituency.

The atmosphere at the Kompleks Pentadbiran Daerah Port Dickson was charged from early morning, with supporters arriving in party colours, waving flags, beating drums and chanting slogans as candidates made their way to submit their nomination papers.

The nomination period runs from 9am to 10am, after which the official list of candidates is announced by the Returning Officer.

Candidates were accompanied by their respective party leaders and supporters, with PH candidates joined by senior coalition figures, including its election director, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

PN chairman Datuk Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar was also present alongside the coalition’s candidates and supporters, while BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir accompanied the coalition’s candidates during the nomination process.

The five state seats under the Port Dickson parliamentary constituency — Linggi, Chuah, Lukut, Bagan Pinang and Sri Tanjung — are expected to draw attention in the Negeri Sembilan state election, with several key contests shaping up between the major political blocs.

Among the key contests is Linggi, where caretaker Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun is facing incumbent Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli and Bersatu candidate Datuk Zamri Md Said.

The crowds also witnessed BN and PN supporters gathering together following the cooperation between the two coalitions for the state election, with leaders from both sides seen engaging with supporters, chatting and posing for photographs at the venue.
