BN-PN pact comes alive in Port Dickson as Zambry, Samsuri meet

The newly formed political understanding between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) was on display at the nomination centre here today.

PORT DICKSON: The newly formed political understanding between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) was on display at the nomination centre here today, as leaders from both coalitions were seen together ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election.

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and PN chairman Datuk Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar arrived separately with their respective supporters at the Kompleks Pentadbiran Daerah Port Dickson at about 8.30am before later meeting and engaging with supporters at the venue.

The two leaders were seen chatting, exchanging pleasantries and posing for photographs with supporters, reflecting the cooperation between BN and PN following their agreement for the state election.

Under the arrangement, BN will contest 25 of the 36 state seats in Negeri Sembilan, while PN will field candidates in the remaining 11 constituencies.

The nomination centre in Port Dickson is overseeing the process for five state seats under the Port Dickson parliamentary constituency — Linggi, Chuah, Lukut, Bagan Pinang and Sri Tanjung.

The Negeri Sembilan state election will see parties competing for all 36 state seats, with candidates required to submit their nomination papers before the official list of candidates is announced.

The campaign period will run for 14 days until 11.59pm on July 31, with early voting set for July 28 and polling day on Aug 1.
