JPJ Pahang investigates viral video showing enforcement officer and lorry driver at Lanchang toll, confirms inspection and police report filed
KUANTAN: The Pahang Road Transport Department is investigating an incident involving one of its enforcement officers and a lorry driver after footage went viral on social media.
The encounter occurred at the Lanchang toll area last Thursday during an inspection of a lorry suspected of carrying unauthorised cargo.
JPJ Pahang stated the driver reportedly refused to cooperate during the inspection under the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
The department emphasised its commitment to ensuring enforcement follows standard operating procedures.
It pledged that any investigation involving enforcement officers would be conducted transparently and independently.
A police report was filed by the JPJ officer involved last Friday.
JPJ urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified claims about the incident. – Bernama
