Eco-Shop Q4’26 net profit jumps 45% on stronger margins, store expansion

PETALING JAYA: Eco-Shop Marketing Bhd’s net profit for fourth quarter ended May 31, 2026 (Q4’26) jumped 44.9% to RM72.63 million from RM50.12 million a year earlier, driven by continued store expansion, improved profit margins and the absence of one-off initial public offering (IPO)-related expenses incurred in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue for the quarter rose 12.2% to RM772.89 million from RM688.98 million previously, driven by continued store expansion, with a net addition of 33 stores during the quarter, as well as higher sales transactions.

For FY26, the dollar-store retailer posted a record net profit of RM264.57 million, up 29% from RM205.03 million in FY25, while revenue increased 4.6% to RM2.92 billion from RM2.79 billion.

The stronger annual performance was driven by a net addition of 91 stores, higher sales transactions and improved gross margins, supported by selling price adjustments, a more favourable product mix and the strengthening of the ringgit.

Eco-Shop declared an interim single-tier dividend of 0.60 sen per ordinary share, payable on Aug 27, 2026, bringing total dividends declared for FY26 to 2.15 sen per share.

CEO Jessica Ng said the group concluded FY26 on a high note, delivering record financial performance while achieving the milestone of opening 100 new stores during the financial year.

“This reflects the strength of our scalable business model, disciplined execution and our ability to meet growing consumer demand for quality products at affordable prices.

“Despite continued cost pressures, we successfully improved margins through cost management, operational efficiencies and our strategic sourcing initiatives, demonstrating the resilience of our operating model,” she said in a statement.

Looking ahead, Ng said the group plans to build on this momentum by opening another 100 new stores in FY27 while accelerating its store refurbishment programme to further enhance the shopping experience.

“At the same time, we will continue to strengthen customer engagement by rolling out our enhanced customer relationship management platform, enabling more personalised marketing and data-driven insights.”

With approximately 2.5 million members already enrolled, whose average basket sizes are significantly higher than those of non-members, she said the group sees meaningful opportunities to further strengthen customer loyalty and increase lifetime value.

“Backed by a healthy store opening pipeline, improving operational efficiencies and continued investments in our network and digital capabilities, we are confident that our disciplined growth strategy will continue generating sustainable value for our shareholders while fulfilling our mission of making quality life affordable for all Malaysians.”
