Terminal 1 Seremban awarded APAD Grade A rating for meeting highest standards in management, operations, safety and passenger facilities
SEREMBAN: Terminal 1 Seremban has been awarded an APAD Grade A rating, recognising it as a land public transport hub that meets the highest standards in management, operations, safety and passenger facilities.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the recognition reflects the terminal’s high standards of management and operational excellence.
He said the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) awarded the rating after the terminal met key assessment criteria, including an online ticketing system, real-time travel information displays, disabled-friendly facilities, closed-circuit television (CCTV), parking facilities, a surau, toilets, food and beverage outlets, and commercial spaces that enhance passenger comfort and safety.
“This is an older terminal that has been successfully upgraded and has now received APAD’s Grade A recognition. Not every terminal in the country qualifies for Grade A, as the assessment is based on established standards and each terminal’s overall condition.
“We hope the people of Negeri Sembilan will see for themselves the improvements and achievements made over the past few years,” he told reporters after the presentation of the Grade A certification to Terminal 1 Seremban today.
Elaborating, Loke said that as the capital of Negeri Sembilan, Seremban should have an integrated public transport hub linking multiple modes of transport.
He said Terminal 1 Seremban is integrated with express buses, stage buses, BAS.MY services and taxis, while also providing direct connectivity to Seremban KTM Station, enabling passengers to continue their journeys more conveniently without having to change locations.
The minister said the terminal has been licensed by APAD since Aug 1, 2023, reflecting the commitment of the Seremban City Council and the terminal operator to maintaining government-prescribed operational standards.
The terminal handles between 150 and 180 bus departures daily, involving 84 operators serving destinations across Peninsular Malaysia. Its operations are supported by 46 platforms, comprising 20 departure bays, six arrival bays and 20 bays for BAS.MY and stage bus services.
Loke also reminded the public to appreciate public facilities by keeping them clean and refraining from vandalism, which results in additional repair costs for the government.
