Betamek delivers improved results for Q1’27

PETALING JAYA: Betamek Bhd, an original design manufacturer and a leading player in electronics manufacturing services for the automotive and industrial sector, delivered a strong financial performance for its first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1’27), supported by higher production volumes across its automotive product segments, expanding export sales and continued progress in customer diversification.

For the quarter, the group recorded revenue of RM79.82 million, representing a 40.3% increase from RM56.88 million in the same quarter last year.

Profit before tax (PBT) rose 56.5% to RM11.21 million, compared to RM7.16 million previously, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 53.1% to RM8.25 million from RM5.39 million.

Gross profit grew 55.9% to RM16.32 million, compared with RM10.46 million in the same quarter last year.

The stronger performance was primarily attributable to higher sales volumes from the group’s automotive products segment.

Vehicle audio and video products remained the largest contributor, generating revenue of RM45.34 million during the quarter, while vehicle accessories contributed RM24.35 million.

Connectivity modules continued to gain traction and contributed RM6.77 million, reflecting Betamek’s growing participation in higher electronics-content vehicle platforms.

Compared with Q4’26, the group also recorded improvements across its key financial indicators.
Revenue increased 20.9% from RM66.03 million in Q4’26 to RM79.82 million, while gross profit rose from RM15.39 million to RM16.32 million.

PBT improved from RM9.57 million to RM11.21 million, supported by higher production volume and continued demand from key automotive programmes.

The group’s customer diversification strategy continued to yield encouraging results.

Revenue from non-major customers contributed approximately 21% of total revenue, compared with approximately 18% recorded in FY26, reflecting ongoing progress in broadening the group’s customer base.

At the same time, export sales accounted for about 18% of total revenue, supported largely by growing demand from Hong Kong and regional markets.

In line with its commitment to delivering shareholder value, the board has declared a first interim single-tier dividend of 1.25 sen per ordinary share for FY27, payable on Aug 17.

Additionally, the board has recommended a final single-tier dividend of 1.25 sen per ordinary share for FY26, subject to shareholders’ approval at its forthcoming annual general meeting.

Together with the interim dividends declared during FY26, the total dividend for the financial year is 6 sen per ordinary share, representing a dividend yield of about 9.2% based on Betamek’s closing share price as of July 22.

Betamek executive director Muhammad Fauzi Abd Ghani said the group began FY27 on a strong footing, with revenue, gross profit and profit before tax recording healthy growth both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.

“The performance was supported by higher production volumes across our automotive product segments and continued progress in our diversification efforts. These encouraging developments reflect the strength of our business fundamentals and provide a solid foundation for sustainable long-term growth.”

Beyond its financial performance, the group continued to strengthen its operational and technological capabilities during the quarter.
