Police arrest 2 drug suspects in Bera, seize RM54,000 in narcotics

Bera police detained two men in separate raids, confiscating drugs worth nearly RM54,000 including ganja, yaba pills, heroin and syabu.

BERA: Police arrested two men suspected of drug trafficking and abuse in separate operations here today.

Bera police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir confirmed the arrests and the seizure of drugs valued at RM53,947.40.

In the first raid, officers detained a 48-year-old wiring technician at a Felda Purun residence.

Police recovered a compressed block wrapped in black adhesive tape believed to be ganja weighing approximately 659.14 grams.

A second operation in Kampung Bohor Baru led to the arrest of a 42-year-old self-employed man.

Authorities seized a black plastic bag containing suspected ganja weighing 1,057.64 grams from this suspect.

Further inspection of the man’s waist pouch revealed 536 pills believed to be yaba weighing 57.58 grams.

Police also found one packet of heroin weighing 23.22 grams and seven aluminium foil packets containing 70 erimin 5 pills weighing 19.59 grams.

The search additionally uncovered 18.66 grams of ganja and four grams of syabu.

Zulkiflee said action was taken against the second suspect under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988.

Police seized the man’s vehicle valued at approximately RM30,000 under this legislation. – Bernama
