JPN offers free replacement of MyKad, birth certificates and other official documents for flood victims with mobile services deployed to affected areas.
KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department is providing free replacement of identification documents for flood victims who have lost or damaged their documents.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the replacement covers MyKad, birth certificates, death certificates, civil marriage certificates, citizenship certificates and other official JPN documents.
“In any disaster that befalls us, I want to remind all those affected to always prioritise the safety of themselves and their families,” he said in a Facebook post.
Saifuddin Nasution assured that the Home Ministry and related agencies will help facilitate the documentation process for Malaysians affected by severe floods.
“The MADANI Government remains committed to assisting the people, especially when faced with trials and difficulties,” he added.
He emphasised that all forms of aid will be delivered swiftly, efficiently and with focus on the people’s wellbeing.
To ease public access, JPN has mobilised mobile replacement services to affected areas as soon as routes become safe to access.
The mobile services will travel directly to flood-affected communities to process document replacements on-site.
This initiative aims to help victims restore their important identification documents without financial burden during the recovery period.
