Johor on full alert as flood warning issued for three districts

Johor government activates highest alert following flood warnings in Segamat, Tangkak and Muar due to continuous heavy rain until November 29

JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor State Government has activated its highest alert level following flood risk warnings issued for Segamat, Tangkak and Muar districts.

The alert comes after continuous heavy rain was reported by the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre and Meteorological Department since yesterday.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi identified areas near river basins and low-lying locations as being at high risk if high-intensity rain continues until November 29, 2025.

He said the state government is increasing preparedness through 24-hour monitoring at all hotspots.

Security assets are being mobilised and critical logistics provided to ensure immediate emergency actions for resident safety.

“I would like to call on all Johoreans to remain aware of weather developments and follow official announcements from PRABN, JPS and MetMalaysia,” he said in a Facebook post.

He urged full cooperation with security agencies if evacuation orders are issued for common safety.

“Let us all pray together for the weather to return to stability and Johor to be kept away from any disaster,” he added.

“May Allah SWT protect the state and all the people of Johor. God willing.” – Bernama
