Malaysia thanks Hermono for strengthening bilateral ties

Malaysia expressed appreciation to Indonesian Ambassador Hermono for strengthening bilateral ties, with PM Anwar pledging continued cooperation on key issues.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed Malaysia’s highest appreciation to Indonesian Ambassador Datuk Hermono for his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations.

Anwar acknowledged the Indonesian government’s continued commitment to enhancing Malaysia-Indonesia ties, particularly in addressing major issues like migrant workers and border controls.

The prime minister made these remarks after receiving a courtesy call from Hermono, who will soon complete his service and return to Jakarta.

“Malaysia remains committed to continuing to strengthen close cooperation with Indonesia for the benefit and well-being of the people from both countries,” Anwar stated in a Facebook post.

Hermono, a career diplomat appointed in 2020, previously served as Indonesia’s Deputy Ambassador to Malaysia from 2013 to 2015.
