KOTA BHARU: The National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre has issued a flood warning for low-lying areas in Tumpat and Pasir Puteh.

The warning is in effect from Saturday to Sunday as river water levels are projected to rise above danger points.

Areas at risk in Tumpat include the Sungai Golok Basin and the Sungai Kelantan Basin.

In Pasir Puteh, the Sungai Semerak Basin is also expected to be affected.

PRABN advised residents in the affected areas to stay alert and follow instructions from disaster management agencies.

Further information can be obtained via the PublicInfoBanjir website and Facebook page.

The warning follows a forecast from the Meteorological Department yesterday.

The department stated flooding may occur in river basin areas, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone locations in Kelantan. – Bernama
