Tun Musa saddened by Bung Moktar’s passing, praises his service

Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman expressed sadness over the death of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, calling his contributions a loss to the state.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman expressed his sadness and extended condolences to the family of the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

Tun Musa said the Lamag assemblyman made significant contributions to Sabah, particularly as Deputy Chief Minister and Kinabatangan MP.

“Over that long period, he contributed greatly to the state and the country through various proposals and recommendations while serving as a representative of the people,” he said in a Facebook post.

He added that all the services Bung Moktar rendered will always be remembered by the people of Sabah.

Tun Musa stated the veteran politician’s passing is a loss felt by all who appreciated his dedication and service.

“May the memory of his immense contributions to Sabah and the country continue to inspire and be remembered by future generations,” he said.

Bung Moktar, 66, passed away at a private hospital here at 1.46 am today, as confirmed by his son Naim Kurniawan Moktar.

His body is at the family home in Luyang and will be taken to the Sabah State Mosque for funeral prayers.

He will be laid to rest at the Kampung Likas Cemetery after Friday prayers today. – Bernama
