British adult film star Bonnie Blue detained in Bali for suspected pornographic content, faces deportation for visa violations after police raid
DENPASAR: A British adult film star faces deportation from Bali for violating immigration laws after being arrested on suspicion of making pornographic content.
Local police raided a studio in Badung near Denpasar last week, detaining Bonnie Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger, 26.
Three men—two Britons and an Australian, all in their twenties—were also detained after a tip-off from a concerned citizen, said local police chief Muhammad Arif Batubara.
“We are conducting a joint investigation regarding activities involving alleged criminal acts of pornography or… material that violates decency,” Arif told journalists.
Bali airport immigration chief Winarko said authorities would “immediately take firm action, deport them, and submit them for blacklisting.”
Police and immigration officials said they have so far found no evidence the group made pornographic material.
Instead, the group faces deportation for breaking tourist visa rules, including working without permits and violating traffic laws.
Billinger and her companions will appear before Denpasar District Court on Friday, after which they face blacklisting.
“This will happen immediately after the hearing,” Winarko said.
Muslim-majority Indonesia strongly disapproves of pornography, which can carry a 12-year jail sentence and a $360,000 fine.
Police confirmed the group’s passports were confiscated and they are being detained ahead of the hearing.
During the December 4 raid, police seized camera equipment, contraceptives, and a blue pickup truck with “Bang Bus” on the doors.
Sixteen other witnesses were questioned and released during the probe.
Arif said witnesses were told the content “would be fun and that many viewers on social media would want to see it.”
The witnesses denied the videos were pornographic, saying they were made “with playful, humorous scenes.”
Billinger first gained fame as an adult content creator using provocative stunts.
Bali officials have increasingly complained about badly behaved foreign tourists in recent years.
